Job Description

Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties related to mortgage lending. Major responsibilities include coordinating the processing of mortgage loan following application, through underwriting to closing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and reviews new mortgage file: enters information into the LOS ; requests verification of employment, rent, and deposits as required through Processing Asst.
  • Reviews all documentation, i.e., credit report, appraisal, survey, title commitment, tax transcripts, social security # verification, CPA letters, etc. and immediately notifies manager of irregularities relative to standard underwriting guidelines if prior to being send to underwriting. If already in underwriting would notify the specific underwriter of
  • record.
  • Updates LOS with verified/changed information that may differ from information stated on initial application.
  • Calculates borrower income.
  • Completes HMDA data collection worksheet.
  • Runs loans through appropriate automated underwriting engines, reviews the AU findings/results and collects/confirms that documentation requirements are met before submitting to underwriting.
  • Completes hazard insurance and flood insurance worksheets to insure appropriate coverage.
  • Gathers underwriting conditions and submits to underwriting for final review and obtains “clear to close”.
  • Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assists loan officers in collecting documentation to meet underwriting conditions.
  • Assists with clearing post-closing purchase suspense conditions and exceptions.
     

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years previous mortgage loan processing experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate a tactful and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, conscientious and to work under the pressure of deadlines.
