Job Description

Under some supervision and following established policies procedures, assists loan officers in the preparation and analysis of loan requests, contacting customers and working directly with lender programs and account executives.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Analyzes loan files including analysis of borrower’s income, asset, and credit, making sure that it meets specific underwriting criteria.
  • Inputs new loan files on to the appropriate software.
  • Prepares loan documents, sets up loan files and follows up with supporting documents.
  • Assists customers and follows up on outstanding items.
  • Organizes all documentation submitted and verifies file completeness.
  • Coordinates or assists Loan Processors with lender, borrower, escrow and other external and internal customers to satisfy all loan conditions.
  • Maintains dialogue with loan officers and real estate brokers with loan status reports.
  • Supports, creates and executes marketing initiatives and loan tracking reports
  • Responsible for complying with the various rules, regulations, policies and ethical standards governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • High school degree or greater, with focus in accounting, financial or business preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in mortgage lending and loan administration preferably in residential lending.

 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • PC literate with ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and other related software, including loan software such as Calyx Point.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to function in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, problem solve and think creatively.
  • Able to professionally interact with both internal (staff/sales) and external customers.
  • Ability to work well as a liaison for the loan officer and any outside company contacts.

 

 

ROUTINE DECISIONS AND FORMAL POLICY SETTING

 

  • Decisions are made based on established policies and procedures.
  • Determines if applicants are eligible for credit based on broad guidelines.
  • Determines which vendors will be used for data processing.
