Job Description

Responsible for managing and executing deposit compliance oversight activities across assigned business areas. Provides regulatory interpretation, risk-based guidance and effective challenge to promote compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance and Bank policies. Works to identify compliance risks, strengthen controls, support business initiatives, and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Monitor regulatory developments affecting deposit products, services and operations. Interpret applicable requirements and communicate meaningful impacts, responsibilities and recommended actions to business partners and Compliance leadership.

2.    Manage compliance oversight for assigned deposit products, services and operations, including applicable consumer-protection, funds-availability, electronic-transactions, privacy, deposit-insurance, fair-lending-adjacent, UDAAP/UDAP, ACH and other related regulations.

3.    Develop, coordinate and complete risk assessments for assigned deposit compliance areas. Evaluate inherent risk, control design and operating effectiveness, document residual risk, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation.

4.    Establish and execute risk-based compliance monitoring and testing activities. Review transactions, customer communications, disclosures, procedures and operational practices; identify exceptions; document findings; and communicate results to appropriate stakeholders and Compliance leadership.

5.    Serve as a subject-matter resource for deposit compliance questions. Research regulatory requirements, evaluate business practices and provide practical guidance consistent with risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

6.    Prepare compliance reports, dashboards and management summaries that identify trends, emerging risks, significant exceptions, corrective-action status and other program performance measures.

7.    Organize and deliver role-specific compliance training. Develop clear training content and communications that translate regulatory requirements into practical employee actions.

8.    Partner with business areas on the development, implementation or modification of deposit products, services, systems, procedures and marketing materials. Identify compliance requirements, evaluate risks and confirm appropriate controls are incorporated before implementation.

9.    Serves as a people leader, managing the employee life cycle through recruiting, goal setting, performance management, coaching, development, engagement, and timely corrective action while fostering a high-performing, accountable, and inclusive team environment.

10.    Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree required. 
•    Five or more years of progressive banking compliance, consumer compliance, regulatory risk, audit or related financial-services experience, preferably with deposit products and operations. 
•    At least two years of demonstrated experience leading people, projects or compliance activities. 
•    CRCM certification preferred, or demonstrated progress toward certification within an established timeframe. 
•    Knowledge of federal and state deposit regulations, consumer-protection requirements and applicable examination expectations. 
•    Experience performing compliance risk assessments, monitoring, testing, issue management or control reviews. 
•    Ability to independently interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business guidance. 
•    Ability to analyze information, identify trends, assess risk and recommend effective solutions. 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical specialists and business leaders. 
•    Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain thorough documentation. 
•    Ability to travel up to 20%, including occasional overnight travel, based on business needs.
