Job Description

The Accountant will be responsible for a large segment of the company’s general accounting and financial analysis activities.  Maintains and develops accounting systems and procedures to ensure adequate accounting and control for various accounting functions. Provides management with accurate and timely Financial Statements and other management reports. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconcile monthly general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile and perform monthly adjustments related to the company’s investment portfolio.
  • Reconcile and perform monthly adjustments related to the fixed asset portfolio.
  • Process and handle sales, use, and property tax compliance issues and regulations related to United’s products and services.
  • Prepare various Federal and State tax filings and calculations for all companies.
  • Analyze daily Consolidated Financials for all companies and investigate any fluctuations or unusual activity required.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting for Executive Management.
  • Work on the preparation of the micro budget.
  • Work on technical accounting issues such as Equity Compensation, Lease Accounting, Calculation of Dilutive Shares Outstanding, Etc.
  • Post general ledger entries.
  • Collaborate with others or work independently on projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related working experience required 
  • CPA certification or ability to obtain preferred but not required
  • Big Four or other public accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge required
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced deadline driven environment required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to communicate with all levels of bank management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform complex accounting and mathematical calculations
