Job Description
The Assistant Compliance Officer - Lending is responsible for staying current with all regulatory requirements (including new changes as they arise) and communicating information to the applicable lines of business. Analyze regulatory issues and implement solutions to mitigate compliance risk. Act as the main contact for business areas on lending related federal regulations and state code. Participate in the development of new products and services. Lead efforts to develop lending related policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for staying current with all regulatory requirements by reviewing all materials received from various resources, interpreting the information and summarizing in to an easy to understand format
- Coordinate with applicable Department Head and/or implementation group to communicate and implement regulatory changes
- Provide support by researching and responding to regulatory questions relate to banking compliance, specifically lending compliance
- Oversight and completion of annual risk assessments and programs such as Identity Theft/red Flag Program and Consumer Compliant Management program
- Lead efforts to develop new lending products and policy and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory changes
- Development and implementation of lending compliance training
- Assist in HMDA reporting team by providing guidance on reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree required or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years previous compliance/regulatory banking experience.
- Practical knowledge in lending compliance regulations such as such as Regulation B, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act; Regulation C, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act; Fair Credit Reporting Act; Regulation X, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act; Regulation Z , the Truth-in-
- Lending Act; Flood Disaster Protection Act; and The SAFE Act
- CRCM Certified (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) highly desired or the ability to become certified
- Ability to travel up to 15%, including some overnight travel as business needs arise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is required
- Ability to comprehend, interpret and communicate banking laws and regulations
- Ability to communicate in an effective, concise and inclusive manner
