The Compensation Associate is primarily responsible for administrative work in support of the Company compensation programs. Overall goal is to ensure that the compensation structure provides competitive practices and is consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


•    Act as a consultant to assist managers in understanding and applying compensation philosophy and practices.
•    Collaborate with HR Manager and Line of Business leaders to create new and update existing job descriptions, ensure appropriate FLSA classification is assigned and maintain the job description library.•    Executes and tracks Mortgage compensation plans and agreements and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
•    Utilizes HR systems effectively to streamline the administration of compensation program and improve efficiency. Performs a quarterly audit of compensation data across multiple systems to ensure data integrity.
•    Build data models and analyses for the organization’s use during compensation planning.
•    Gather data for various market surveys.
•    Provide assistance to Managers and HR Leaders to support the annual performance and compensation review process. Includes development of training tools and resources.
•    Work closely with HR Manager on merger and acquisitions to include assisting with the tracking of job codes and exemption statuses.
•    Provide monthly DC Wage Act forms to necessary employees.
•    Keep current of federal, state and location compensation regulations in order to ensure compensation program is in compliance, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). 
•    Improve processes and tools by identifying inefficiencies in compensation plans, workflows, and HRIS processes, researching options, and recommending solutions.
•    Other projects and duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

•    High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
•    Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience, preferably related to Compensation administration, required
•    Prior working experience in banking is a plus
•    Expert proficiency in Excel required; Comfortable building data models to include PivotTables, lookup functions, etc.
•    SHRM or CCP certification, or drive to attain, highly desired.
•    Self-motivated, organized problem solver with strong process and project-management skills with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Ability to interpret data and present in a clear and concise manner.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with a sensitivity to confidentiality. Thoughtful and analytical, driving actionable strategies based on data.
•    Ability to demonstrate a positive and effective demeanor during stressful or demanding situations.
•    Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism is essential.
•    Ability to provide high level of customer service to staff and ability to identify when questions/situations need to be escalated to management.
