Job Description

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for providing courteous, professional assistance via telephone to the bank's customers and branches.  In addition, CSRs will direct calls to other areas within the bank and perform operations support functions within the department, as needed                                                                                                                                                       

  • Answer incoming calls in an accurate and professional manner
  • Apply bank-provided training to fulfill requests from customers regarding their accounts and banking related services
  • Process customer orders and applications for service, maintenance and termination
  • Assist other callers by directing them to the appropriate department within United Bank
  • Troubleshoot and resolve first level customer complaints
  • Handle complex customer situations referred by Customer Service Associate along with receiving incoming customer calls
  • Learn new bank services and technology on an ongoing basis
  • Perform other administrative support responsibilities as department needs arise
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of call center or banking working environment required
  • Basic computer navigation in a Windows based environment required
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including Saturdays as scheduled is required
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for problem resolution
  • Ability to work in a structured/scheduled work environment within a fast paced environment
  • Ability to perform role with minimal daily supervision

Essential Functions:

  • Sitting and speaking for extended periods of time.
  • Sufficient dexterity of hands and fingers to efficiently operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components and ability to use telephone equipment
  • Ability to converse and exchange information with all levels of staff and customers
  • Ability to observe, perceive, identify, and translate data
