The Payroll Coordinator will support payroll in general payroll functions and on strategic plans to ensure proactive and effective development of internal and external communications. The Payroll Coordinator will provide an exemplary level of service to our employees and managers, as well as internal and external Human Resource partners. This position will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve business results and processes.



  • Responsible for the development and implementation of internal and external communications to support business initiatives.  
  • Acts as a change management coordinator to payroll projects and initiatives within our current systems.  Ensures that resources are current and effective.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions through the payroll email.  Informs appropriate payroll staff of any matters that require intervention and/or action.
  • Acts as a resource for employees to ensure their understanding and compliance with HR policies, procedures, and regulations. Keeps management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.
  • Coordinates and manages payroll meeting minutes and action items.
  • Responsible for payroll mail management including receiving, tracking, and follow-up of time sensitive items.
  • Recommends, develops, and documents process improvements and solutions from established practices and processes.  Works to ensure the recommendations reflect the needs of employees in order to better support key initiatives within the department.
  • Actively participates in special projects such as mergers, acquisitions, and system implementations.
  • Provides general administrative and office support to the payroll group as needed.  Acts as back up to other administrators within the systems, administration and payroll areas as needed.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  
  • Minimum of two (2) years of prior working experience in a professional administrative support role is required, preferably in Human Resources or Payroll 
  • Exposure to HR processes or data management is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to always maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, managing deadlines and timely deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change with systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to effectively work independently without direct supervision and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Essential Functions

  • Sitting, standing or stooping for extended periods of time.
