Mortgage Warehouse Specialist

Job Description

This position is responsible for the full management of the operation and life cycle of the mortgage warehouse line loans. Work closely with the Market President on the Mortgage Warehouse loan product. May be responsible overseeing direct staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Responsible for conducting thorough analysis of all loans submitted and process through the Warehouse Loan System (WLS)
•    Accountable for the full management of the WLS system to include, but not limited to, being the subject matter expert, conducting due diligence, ensuring system rules are properly set up and providing access to internal staff and external clients/agents
•    Review and compare loan documentation received with the information input into the Warehouse Loan System by the originator
•    Identify loan overrides needing additional review, troubleshooting and approval
•    Return or decline loans when appropriate as system indicates.  
•    Initiate and approve the outgoing disbursement wires
•    Review and process incoming document files
•    Review and process incoming Payoffs/Settlement documentation and prepare necessary tickets.  Release interest as interim funder on the national Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS) system 
•    Responsible in ensuring original notes are received, maintained and managed up through endorsement and delivery
•    Prepare and distribute weekly Mortgage Warehouse Line reports to Market President 
•    Manage the monthly invoices to ensure timely payments 
•    If the role oversees staff, will be responsible for full management to include hiring, providing guidance, training, performance management and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

•    High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred
•    Minimum of three (3) years working experience in a related banking or financial lending and/or accounting role required.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage and be subject matter expert of the mortgage warehouse loan product.
•    Proficiency with software programs related to mortgage lending is highly desired
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required
•    Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and excellent customer relationship management is required
•    Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is required
•    Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines, multi-task and being detail oriented is essential
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills required
