The Chief of Staff is responsible for supporting the Chief Executive Officer and/or Chief Operating Officer and is primarily responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex administrative and analytical duties.  This role will be a valuable resource to other members of the executive management team by supporting the management of business metrics and trends. The position will be a key contributor to building out strategic initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Leads the coordination and execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of the CEO, COO, and/or other Executive Management Officers.
•    Responsibilities include corporate governance issues, mergers and acquisitions, and other activities; Acts as a focal point for Executive Office communications and occupies a key role in the administration of critical corporate matters. Will at times communicate with the UBSI Board of Directors and other firm stakeholders.
•    Oversees day-to-day responsibilities of the Executive Office administrative support staff and ensures all projects and work are completed in an efficient manner that supports key initiatives and drives success.
•    Supports and at times will oversee large, cross-functional projects or initiatives. Will be involved in driving decision-making processes, ensuring that projects stay on track and align with the company’s strategic goals.
•    Leads strategic planning processes and ensures the alignment of ideas between the CEO and other leaders, assists in the creation and tracking of key performance indicators.
•    Prioritizes, organizes, and condenses information going into and out of the Executive Office. May include managing their executive’s email inbox, which can involve responding directly to queries and/or preparing a daily summation of the most important correspondences.
•    Ability to create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
•    Conduct and coordinate various financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within the organization.
•    Responsible for a wide range of activities including assisting with the financial forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of various weekly/monthly/quarterly management reports, and development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards).
•    Responsible for composing, maintaining, and reviewing presentation materials, reports, spreadsheets, agendas, and meeting minutes for a variety of Corporate and Holding Company level meetings. Must operate with a high degree of detail orientation as materials will be presented at the top level of the organization.
•    Complete a broad variety of administrative duties to include calendar management, arranging travel, completing expense records and reports, and complex data entry. 
•    Assignments will often include confidential material and the position must act with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
•    Provides high level support and participates extensively during M&A process.
•    Work on special projects and other duties as business needs arise.

Qualifications

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree, such as an MBA or JD is highly desired.
•    Minimum of eight (8) years of related professional experience is required; Experience in banking or financial services is preferred.
•    Experience providing administrative support at the C-Suite level is highly desired.
•    Proven ability to solve urgent problems and exhibition of leadership capabilities required.
•    Strategic planning and corporate governance experience a plus.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Demonstrated ability of high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
•    Ability to anticipate manager or departmental needs.
•    Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
•    Ability to interact in a professional manner with all levels of staff including Executive Management and key bank clients.
•    Ability to travel up to 10%.

In Washington, DC., the expected base pay salary range for this role is $165,818 - $290,182, placement within the range will be determined on an individualized basis commensurate with experience and skills and is only one part of the total compensation package. Your base salary may be subject to an annual merit increase based upon performance and, depending on the position, may be eligible for cash bonuses, long-term incentives, commissions, and other United Bank sponsored benefit programs.
